SJ Andrew & Sons established 1914

After returning to Cornwall from the gold mines of South Africa in 1914 Stephen John Andrew purchased a small business in Redruth and established SJ Andrew & Sons, initially selling used and new steel, primary to the local mining industry.

The business has remained in the family and grown over the years, significantly with major investment and expansion in the late 80's.

2011 ond now in its 97th year SJ Andrew & Sons Limited is as srong as ever with a growing customer base throughout Cornwall.

Still on its original site at South Turnpike in Redruth the business has sales counters, storage and a workshop totalling 34,000 sq feet, and a fleet of three lorries and two vans covering Cornwall on a daily basis.

The business is registered ISO 9001 for quality and is part of the Troy buying group. Holding approximately 400 tonnes of steel in stock and with a comprehensive stock range in its general stores, SJ Andrew & Sons is well placed to provide a fast, friendly & reliable service to its cutomers.

SJ Andrew & Sons Ltd is now looking forward to celebrating its centenary in 2014. Work has commenced to double the size of the main steel store, to give greatly increased storage capability and allow the combining of the two sales counters into one with larger showroom facilities and new sales office.
